Whoa, December 1st??

There's no possible way that it's already December 1st!! I just need time to stop in its tracks for one moment!
Thanksgiving was great!! We had green bean casserole, corn, rolls, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy (both white and brown), the bes mac-n-cheese ever, and then there was Jeremy's mac-n-cheese! We had a mac-n-cheese cook off. It was so much fun, we were both talking trash to each other. Jeremy smoked his while he was smoking the turkey and mine was in the crockpot. Mine was perfect, and Jeremy's needed more cheese and had a smoked flavor. Everyone loved them both! We had two turkeys- one smoked and one deep fried... YUMMYYY!!! Now that I've had deep fried, I can't go back!
We had about 15 people come over. We invited everyone from Jeremy's work to come over. We realize that we are close to our family but not everyone is, and not everyone lives in a house where they can cook turkeys (alot of them live in the dorms). I was a nervous wreck but everything turned out great! (A HUGE thank you to Stephanie Bachmeier for coming over early and helping me!!!!)


Okay.. now it's December 2nd.. I didn't finish. But here we go December... let's do it!

welcome back!

Wow! It's been a long time since I've blogged! This new/40 hour job is changing my world! That's so silly but it is! I LOOOOOVE my weekends! And Saturday requires a nap. This past Saturday I fell asleep for about thirty minutes around 5 while Texas was losing.. so I'm coming to the conclusion that it's a requirement!

The job is going really good! The only part that I can't stand is the inconsistancy but that's every job.
WallE is doing great! He recently got a hair cut and is looking purdy  :)
Jeremy is doing good too! He's enjoying being on days.

For our anniversary (which is around the time I stopped blogging) we went to dinner and a movie! I don't remember which movie but I do remember that it wasn't very good! For my birthday I came home to flowers on the counter (they were really pretty!) and we headed to Shannon and Josh's for dinner and relaxation! Dinner was FILLING but delicious! Then the next day we went to Chili's because I wanted to for my birthday, and I had a coupon for a free dessert that I got in my email! woo hoo!

Oh also, my laptop has died. I can't get the screen to turn back on! :( So that means we are both sharing one laptop- LAME! But I get dibbs on it- that was the deal if we sold the iPad.. and we did. We aren't the type of people to buy applications for it so we figured could use the money for tires or my ridiculous dental bill.

So I guess that's where I'll leave you for now. I'm in a bad mood tonight.. dinner turned out nasty :(

THE question

What's the one question everybody that you mean after you've entered high school asks you? The one that you ask yourself 20 times a day, nearing the end of your junior year in high school?  Ya know, the question that you hate others answering with such confidence and you have no idea..

"WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?"

I'm almost 22 years old and I've had many answers to this question- being a teacher went to being a photographer to being an ag. teacher to being a dental hygienist to being an Air Force wife to being a dental assistant to- ERRCH! Stop right there. You really don't have a choice but to stop right there... because I don't know what I want to do.

The whole time I was a cashier Jeremy pushed me to find a better job. One that I don't come home and complain about and one that pays better. So I found one, and now he's "encouraging" me to go to school and get a degree in something. I honestly have no idea!! I like the receptionist setting.. it's a happy place behind a desk.
I've never taken accounting... I've been thinking about doing that..
Or I could be a... -and that's where I get stuck. I don't have any ideas!
Jeremy thinks I should be a real estate agent. :/  No thanks. I'd rather not. It just doesn't sound like fun. An interior decorator sounds like more fun!!! (You wouldn't know it looking at my house!)
I'm a very sympathetic person, I would love to do something that helps people!

If anyone has any ideas, please share them! I'm just sure that I'm thinking inside the box and not looking at all of my options!

Laundry

Have I ever confessed my unmistakable hate for putting laundry away? I don't hate folding it, I do that as I take it out of the dryer. I must really dislike putting it away though...

As I take shirts out of the dryer I lay them flat because it's silly to fold a shirt just to go put it on a hanger (eventually). That's TWO piles of shirts laid flat and TWO laundry baskets full of pants, shorts, jeans, all the underwear we own and socks...
I'm going to put an add out there- $10 to put my laundry away!!  That's just a joke {for now}


On this note I read a blog the other day about moms hiring someone to do their house cleaning. They asked for my opinion so I gave it... If you hire someone once or twice a month just to get you caught up seems perfectly logical!

That's all I said but I have more to say- if you are a stay at home mom.. you shouldn't get too far behind. I'm not saying they don't do anything because I know it's just the same as working 40 hours at a paid job. But there are nap times and quiet times. As someone who has just started her 1st 40 hour job... I can't imagine having kids and working 40 hours!! There is barely time to do anything after you get home and get through dinner... But I still can't wait to have kids :)

We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Hêt, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as Cold. Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat. We cannot Measure Cold. Heat is Energy. Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.

Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness? Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light . . . Student : Sir, my point is your Philosophical Premise is flawed.

You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can';t even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing. Death is Not the Opposite of Life: just the Absence of it Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from a Monkey?
Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do.

Writing my letter

When you're mad, you're told to write a letter and wait a day, then if you still feel the same way to send it. Well I'm writing my letter and not waiting a day.

The other day my car informed me of 2 things, #1 that I need to change my oil. Well I ignored this one because it has said that since before the last time we changed it. And #2 that I have low tire pressure. Well this guy that Jeremy works with came over today after I got off work to check the tire pressure. The front 2 are at 50 and the back right one needs 10 more PSI's. So he let out air in the front to, and made them sit at 40. (Thanks Vickers!!)
Then I went to the dollar store to pick up some purple wrapping paper to make my cousins wedding gifts match. On the way there my steering wheel was shaking, not vibrating. So I stopped by Auto Zone and asked the nice man for advice on what it could be. He went out and felt the tires and what did he find? A bubble. Not good. Tire replacement.
Soo what does this mean for my weekend plans of driving 5 hours to go to my cousins wedding in Carthage, MO? That I'm not going and yet ONE MORE weekend ALONE.

It's not a big deal that I don't get to go to his wedding. It's that my tire my blow out and my husband isn't home to fix it, it's that I need a new stinking tire. It's that I was really looking forward to seeing my family and dressing up and having a good time.

I understand everything happen's for a reason. I'm sure this is preventing something from happening to me or WallE or my car or my house or my bills or SOMETHING.. but the thing is... I'll probably never know. I won't hear about a wreck that happens in some small town that I was going to be driving through. I won't realize that not going could be saving WallE from getting hit by a car in the distance from our car to the hotel.

Ever since I was young I knew that talking about things out loud, made them not happen for me. Going to get my first car, didn't happen because I told everyone I know. I know that's not the reason why, but it seems like that's the way things have worked all my life. So now, almost 22 years into it, I'm realizing that I need to stop shouting to the world that I'm doing something, or it won't happen. I didn't tell anybody when Jeremy and I started looking for a car for me. I didn't tell anybody when I had my job interview at Eye Specialists.

I don't understand. I don't now, not ever. DANG IT!!
Well here's to another boring weekend at home. On my computer and behind the TV.

Quick note on my lunch break

I'm on my lunch break and have to get something off my chest..

Why do people call themselves friends when they only get ahold of you when they want to tell you about something going on in their life?

For example.. the other day when I got off work, I turned my cell phone off and I had a few text messages to read. One was from Jeremy and the other one was from a "friend". I haven't talked to her in a few months (not even texted). Her text message said that today was her and her husbands anniversary. Was I supposed to be excited for her?

Another example.. another girl from this group of "friends" texted me the next day to tell me that she got a job at a hospital. I haven't talked to this girl for even longer. What kind of response are they expecting? I just got a new job and didn't find it necessary to tell every person that I know.

I just don't understand. They want nothing to do with me until they want praise. Alot has gone on in my life lately, good and bad, and I don't go to you for praise or condolences because we aren't that type of friend, apparently. You have parties and go hang out with the rest of the "group" but I don't even get an invite..


If it's because I don't drink and get nasty drunk like you, then all I have to say to you is "cool"

root canal

I got my first root canal yesterday!!
I didn't get much sleep the night before. When we went to bed I couldn't stop talking even though I was SO tired! I must have tossed and turned alot because I was still pretty tired when I woke up!

Jeremy had stuff going on at work today so Shannon took me to my appointment. I didn't know if I was going to be put to sleep or not. I wasn't put to sleep but I was falling asleep! The only thing that was uncomfortable was when he gave me the shot to make me even more numb. Even that didn't hurt. I didn't feel the shot, I felt him turning the syringe in my gum.

I'm not sure if anyone has ever fell asleep while getting a root canal, but that says A LOT about my dentist!! He constantly asks me if I'm in pain. While that could get annoying, it doesn't because I don't want to be in pain either!

Dr. Kenneth Spanel is absolutely AWESOME!! I wasn't even in pain after the numbness wore off! The only time I feel anything is when I yawn! I just can't stop saying enough great things about him!!

I will need a $crown$ next and those usually come 2 weeks after the root canal but that's when we'll be in Kansas so it'll have to wait.

I was mortified!!

Well, one thing I do as a cashier is observe! I see so much stuff! Let me share what I saw the other day..

This lady has 3 boys. While I was ringing them out, she didn't seem to have much control over them. They were throwing stuff and running around.
There wasn't anybody behind her in line so I watched them walk outside to their van. She gets the two younger ones into their car seats (neither of them were rear-facing) and the older one (MAYBE 4) gets into the front seat (he didn't just jump up there from the back, he opened the door and got in). This wasn't the most shocking part. What did I see next? He was standing up in the seat and looking at the other two boys as his mom put the car in reverse to drive away!!! This child has NO seat belt on AND he's standing up while she's driving!!!

Let me get this out of the way- I don't have kids. So let me save you some time... "easier said than done", "each child is different" and "you don't know the circumstances". GIVE ME A BREAK!! It takes 10 seconds to pull a seatbelt across your child.

Jeremy has NO idea about kids. He doesn't know that they are supposed to sit rear-facing until they are at least two. He doesn't know the technical stuff. So I inform him when I'm ranting and raving. I told him that our kids will be rear-facing for a LONG time. Normally when I talk about kids, he tells me to "ssshhhh" because that's not what he is thinking about right now in life. But when I talk about how crappy this parenting was or when I talk about rear-facing he just listens and nods. I think he can tell how important this is to me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect. When Jeremy was at basic, I took Alec (eight at the time) to Pizza Hut and I let him sit in the front seat (they need to be 12 before they are sitting up front so the seat belt fits properly) but he had a seat belt on. I wasn't totally ignorant! And Jeremy has done the same thing, he has let Alec sit up front... WITH a seat belt!

I just can't believe that this lady let that happen! Sure, maybe they were going to another store at the mall, so she just let him sit up front, but put him in a seat belt! The intersection in front of work is very busy and hard to get out of. I feel sorry for this poor boy, not getting the proper parental guidance.

Chicken Tortilla Soup

Let me explain my eating habits... #1 I don't like very many vegetables. Okay, I only like Corn, potatos and pickles/cucumbers. #2 I don't like soup either. Mainly because I don't like hot liquids.. that mean hot cocoa is only in my hands when they're cold. #3 I eat ranch with almost everything! Even if it's good. I know that it's going to be even better with ranch!

When I worked at Biederman's Bistro & Catering I surprised myself and my best friend, that worked there also; I actually enjoyed their Chicken Tortilla Soup!! And I mean really enjoyed it! I ate it like a dip, with some tortilla chips. So when my food was limited to practically nothing (I couldn't chew) I asked for the recipe and she gladly gave it to me!! I was so surprised and SO happy!! I haven't made it yet, because she gave it to me after I got my teeth fixed, but it's on the list!!

Here's the recipe.  I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do!
(Bear with her, she isn't computer literate so she just put all the ingredients down)

6 c. Chicken broth (water and some base if you make your own) or cook a whole chicken and save the broth.. De-bone your chicken and add the meat
2 small cans of rotel tomatoes
1 can of green chiles
1 small onion diced
1 tsp. chopped  garlic
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
chili powder
1or 2Tbsp. of steak seasoning,
A-1 or heinz 57 (she didn't say how much, I would just add a tsp. or two)
1tsp. cumin
salt and pepper to taste.

Let it simmer awhile and cut up flour tortillas and add to it. We serve it with shredded jack and monterey cheese and diced green onion and crispy tortilla chips if you want.

Retail advice again

I've posted a blog before with some retail advice but mostly talked about bringing your kids to the store with you.. Most of this is going to be about when you are checking out because I'm mostly a cashier.  But here is a list..

• If the store offers a rewards card (not a credit card) just sign up. Even if you don't shop there that often. More times than not the store associate is being "graded" on how many sign ups they get. They don't cost money, they save you money by sending you coupons! Plus you never know when they are going to send a coupon that you need at the time!
• If a cashier doesn't have their "open" sign on, don't go to their line. If it's not on they are probably trying to go take their break or use the restroom or get off work. Now if they are just standing there not doing anything and the sign is off, ask if they are open. 
• Before you go complaining to the cashier about something (needing help, being mad because they don't accept a certain coupon, you think something needs to change at the store) think about it... you are about to complain to someone who gets paid minimum wage (or so). Do you really think they are going to care that you can't use your coupon that you printed off the internet?
• If you have internet-printed coupons, check with the store to make sure they accept them before you go walking around the store and get a bunch of stuff just to find out they don't accept them!
• If a cashier is doing something at their register (pricing merchandise, folding shirts) don't just walk up and put your stuff down on top of what they are doing. When they get that shirt folded and set to the side they will assist you.
• Yes, customers should be associates #1 priority but just because you can't find someone to help you, doesn't mean you need to get ugly with the cashier. Maybe you should get ugly with the corporate office and tell them to allow more payroll so associates can be on the floor assisting customers. What I mean by this is, when a store gets a "truck"/shipment the associates are unloading the truck and then unloading the merchandise. Therefore they can't be on the floor. If corporate allowed for more payroll they could have certain people working on getting more merchandise on the floor, and certain people helping you!
• More times than not, the customers that complain because they can't find anyone to help them, are the customers that are making the messes that the associates are busy cleaning up after. When you want to look at a pair of shorts and you take them off the hanger, don't just throw the shorts and hanger somewhere. Yes they get paid to do it but after 20 shorts (not exaggerating!!) it gets old and very irritating! 
• When fitting rooms say 'limit 3 items' they mean it! Don't bring your over-flowing shopping cart in there and hog the fitting room for an hour. Even if the fitting room is unlocked, someone still has to clean it up!
• If a tag accidentally gets pulled off while you are trying clothes on, just set it on top of the item. Don't throw it on the floor. 
• If your kids are playing with balls or other merchandise, make sure they get it put back in the same place. When they put it back in the wrong place, beside the wrong price tag, another customer will assume that's the price for it and throw a fit when it's not. You've been there! And you've probably rushed your kid and made them just set something on the wrong shelf!
• Don't leave your children in a store by themselves until they are 18. You never know if they are stealing or causing trouble. 
• Don't shove your money in the cashiers face. On the other hand don't lay it down on the counter when they are standing there waiting for it or when they have their hand out waiting (yes, it happens. all the time.). Be courteous
• Lastly, don't be rude to the cashier. They average about 100 customers each, if every customer was rude.. they are going to get rude back. Cashiers take a lot of belittling, so it's a nice change when someone takes two seconds to smile and be nice!

Just remember this advice when you go shopping again. It will make your life easier and the employees happier to do their job which will make you happier!!

Very first

I am SO excited to announce that I will be doing my very first product review!! CSN Stores contacted me and I have been on their website many times and they have so many great items! They range from every corner TV stand  you could think of to bird cages!


I'll admit.. I actually emailed Jennifer over at J. Leigh Designz to ask her if it was legit. {I didn't want to be scammed}  When she said it was I jumped up and did the happy dance!!

Lately winning giveaways has been a little slow for me.. but I'm not giving up! I know I haven't been putting the time into it that I normally do.

Scentsy

I was introduced to Scentsy in December when my MIL started selling it! She "scent" samples with me when we were in town for Christmas so I could have a basket party up here in Nebraska.
I gladly did this and got free product and discounts in return! My favorite scent is Snowberry but it has "scents" been retired. {SUPER SAD FACE} So I'm saving the bar that I have, for special occasions!

New computer app...

INSTALLING HUSBAND !

A woman writes to the IT Technical support.....

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and I noticed a distinct slowdown in the overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NEWS 5.0, MONEY 3.0 and CRICKET 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

DEAR Madam, 

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. 

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme. HTML and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0update.
If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.. 

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Silence 2.5 or Beer 6.1.
Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta. 

Whatever you do, DO NOT  in  any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.) 

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0program. These are unsupported applications and will crashHusband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software
To improve memory and performance.
We recommend: Cooking 3.0 and Good Looks 7.7.
